UIW is committed to integrating computer technology into the learning experience of all students. In support of this goal, all fulltime undergraduate students are required to have a laptop for use in university classes and all students have the opportunity to purchase the latest in mobile computing such as the Dell™ Tablet.

An integral part of faculty-student communication is the campus portal system called Blackboard. UIW faculty use Blackboard as a way to incorporate web-based instruction with classroom discussion. This means students go on-line in class, access databases and information, and create projects using current software applications. With Blackboard, students are immersed in technology-related activities.
